What a great honor to be included among the energetic, hyperactive young achievers of these days. Most of them may have not reached high degrees of education like what most people boast of, but being triumphant of resisting the worldly doings of men is indeed a great achievement that even the richest person in this world has not come to realize.
Teatro Kristiano members danced with the tune sang by the choir members accompanied by the band, Thanksgiving started with psalms of praises for God at 9:30am in Dubai. With their harmonious melody and snappy motions, everybody was informed that this day will be another highlight in the history of the brethren here in UAE.
I, being one of the choir members, am a living testimony to this event. Given the opportunity to serve God at my young age is a very significant thing that I should thank God for. As what I've heard from Bro. Eli, our youth is something that we cannot take back when we get married, have children, and grow old; and if it was spent wrongfully, there's no way to regain that strength that we have wasted to erase our mistakes and do things the right way. That's why I am so grateful that I am still in my youth and has all the power to glorify my God with all my strength.
Unlike all other worldly youth who may have spent that day on doing the desires of their flesh, we, the youths of UAE have done what's pleasurable before God. As what the line of the song of The Corrs says (which I usually sing), "And it really doesn't matter if we don't eat, and it really doesn't matter if we never sleep, yeah, it really doesn't matter, really doesn't matter at all. Coz we are so young now..." If others can do this for earthly pleasures that end, can't we do them for everlasting life? Think again...
Going back to the Thanksgiving event. After listening to Worship Service and Prayer Meeting topic preached by Bro. Eli, our awaited time has come - the final presentation of the whole youth of UAE. We were extremely excited, you can't imagine it. Brethren applauded as we started moving in perfect harmony with each other. We enjoyed singing every lines of the song with smiles in our faces, and before we knew it, the song is over, the presentation ended. Brethren applauded once again. After that, MICs and OICs gave their warm greetings for our Thanksgiving. We felt valued, we felt remembered, and to be real, it's so nice to feel that way. Bro. Mel Magdaraog, Bro. Resty Reyes, Bro. Rolan Ocampo, and Bro. Dennis Casipagan were the ones who gave their fervent greetings.
Bro. Dennis Casipagan, I remember so much about him. I wonder if he still remembers me, but I do remember him very well. If what that thing which reminds me of him, I won't mention it here, for this article isn't focused merely on him. All I can say is I owe from him part of what I am now because of the trust that he gave me when I was 16. (Very young, huh! You bet!) Of course we owe everything from God first of all, but Bro. Dennis has been an instrument for that. I can't remember I thanked him for that for I just can't accept what he entrusted me, but I can't refuse it as well. Enough for that mind twisting story of mine.
Hey, Thanksgiving issue did not end with that! On this day we've watched our Thanksgiving presentation from the video feed in Apalit, Pampanga. How lucky fellows we are to be seen by the whole brethren all over the world! Have you seen us? What word should I say more to explain the feeling that I have now? I'm lost for word.
And lastly, all you young fellows out there, don't live your lives in this world like a shadow that doesn't leave a single footprint of history. We don't know until when God will lend us this life and strength that we have now, so we better spend it to serve Him. Life must not end with you being a drug addict or a killer, nor being a frustrated lover or a suicidal admirer. Haven't you asked yourself once why you exist in this world? Go and find your place under the sun before it's too late. As what Bro. Daniel said, "Live like you'll die tomorrow." With that, surely you'll be the best person you could ever be in every single day of your life. Use your mind and think.
